The FNPS is a society for investigators in the field of fetal and neonatal (patho-)physiology. The society organizes a yearly conference to promote discussion and exchange of ideas between physiologists, obstetricians and neonatologists.

Professor Geoffrey Dawes (1918-1996) is the founder of the FNPS. In memory of him the Dawes Lecture Series is held at the annual meeting.
