31th Annual Business Meeting Minutes

Minutes of the Fetal and Neonatal Physiological Society Annual

General Meeting

Cambridge, United Kingdom

Tuesday, September 19, 2006

1. The minutes of the previous meeting in Glenelg, South Australia, were accepted with typographical error corrections.

2. The coordinator Laura Bennet expressed the society’s thanks to the Cambridge committee for a superb meeting, both academically and socially and particularly praised the great efforts of Dino Giussani, the convenor. Enthusiastic applause endorsed the comments.

3. Website update. Laura Bennet reported that the site is up and running, and in use by members. The address is http://www.fnps-society.org/

4. Finances

a. Seed money

The practice of passing on approximately $3000 from the current meeting to the next will continue.

b. FNPS has no central budget, and the board considered a small membership fee. This was not recommended.

c. The long established aim of a fee of $500 for 3 days, shared accommodations is unrealistic in some venues. We will examine the equivalent cost over the past 5 years and consider this as the future target cost.

5. Changes to the Board

a. Laura Bennet will remain coordinator

b. Bill Parer will step down as scribe and Dino Giussani will assume this position in 2007

c. Mark Hanson is rotating off the board

d. Donald Peebles has accepted a position on the Board.

6. FNPS archives

a. 3 Sites, USA (Bill Parer), Europe (Jan Nijhuis), Pacific Rim (Richard Harding)
